Do Single Producer Projects Work?

On Wednesday, New Orleans rapper Curren$y A.K.A Curren$y da Hot Spitta announced another one of the many projects he promised in 2011. This time, it's an LP entitled Weekend At Burnie's, a play on the popular movie Weekend at Bernie's. Weekend At Burnie's will be similar to Spitta's last project, Covert Coup since each will only have beats made by one producer.

Today, "Goblin", the second album by OFWGKTA leader Tyler, The Creator leaked. It was the first release by any of the OF artists that wasn't going to be available for free download on http://www.oddfuture.com.

J. Cole - Disgusting

Update: Not a single, might not even be on the album. It looks like Cole just wanted to get this out to the world.

This could be the first single of Cole debut album, which at this point lacks a title and a release date. However, rumors are that it will be title "Cole World" and it will hit this summer. Tonight, the first single was released, and it is Disgusting.

Yes it's true. The OFWGKTA clique is now signed to a record label...Odd Future Records. While I am disappointed they didn't branch out to a major label and get the support the deserve, I understand why they didn't.

Is Cole World Coming this Summer?

About 50 minutes ago, J. Cole himself tweeted what you see below. Does this mean his long awaited debut will hit shelves, and subsequently our libraries, sometime this summer? We can only hope so. Cole hit the spotlight in 2009 when he dropped "The Warm Up". This led to him being the first signee to Jay-Z's new label, Roc Nation. He even let the first single go last year with "Who Dat", which was loved by mostly everyone. I just hope he's not messing with us. This could be a big summer with potential albums by Trey Songz, Big Sean, Kanye West, and now this. Not to mention projects that are already confirmed in Tha Carter IV and Watch The Throne. If it is for real, I only have one thing to say: this better mean labelmate Jay Electronica is working on his debut.
